Welkom to My Harpika Journey

Welkom to My Harpika Journey

Thank you for visiting my site! Here, I invite you to join me on my personal journey with the Harpika. As I explore this unique instrument and expand my own knowledge, I want to share everything I discover with you. Information about the Harpika is scarce, and I hope to change that by creating a space where enthusiasts can find and exchange insights.

Years ago, I tried playing the harp and truly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I couldn't continue. However, the idea of playing music again never left me. In 2023, I decided to pick up an instrument once more. Living in a remote area, self-study was my only option. That's when I stumbled upon an instrument I had never heard of before - one with multiple names: Harpika, Harpica, Kalyre, Kalire or Harpika Kalyre.

Finding information about it was nearly impossible, and there were no clear guides on how to play it. Despite this, I was intrigued and decided to buy one in early January 2024, my Harpika Kalyre arrived, and I was beyond excited!

The instrument was out of tune, but luckily, I still had my harp books and tuner. I dusted off those old books, hoping they would help me navigate this new musical adventure. Tuning it was quite similar to tuning a harp, so that part wasn't too challenging.

However, playing it was another story. While it is said to be an easy instrument, I quickly realized that without a background in reading sheet music, getting a song to sound right was more difficult than expected. I had only taken a few harp lessons in the past, and playing by ear seemed like a fun method - until I heard myself play and realized it sounded noting like what I imagined in my head!.

For the first few months, I practiced daily with great enthusiasm. But soon, I hit a wall - not because I lost interest, but because I struggled to make real progress. Without proper sheet music or clear instructions, I had no idea where to find songs suited for my Harpika Kalyre. Eventually, I became discouraged, and my instrument ended up tucked away in the closet.

Yet, the thought of playing it never truly left me. That's why I decided to try again! This time, alongside playing, I also want to document my progress and experiences through this blog. My goal is to make more information available about this beautiful instrument - not just for you, but also for myself as a personal archive. I hope to track my learning process, share my progress, and inspire others to pick up the Harpika kalyre and enjoy playing it as well.
